5. The Expedition

  • Inside the chest lies a collection of priceless Mughal-era manuscripts and a golden reel—the missing film Deep Water itself, perfectly preserved by the salt‑water environment.
  • The film, when played, tells a story parallel to Riya’s own investigation: a woman named Suhana (played by a legendary actress of the era) who uncovers a political conspiracy while searching for a secret document hidden in the depths. The final scene mirrors Riya’s own discovery, blurring the line between fiction and reality.
