5. For Windows 8 Specifically
- If program won't open: Try Windows 7 compatibility mode (right-click exe → Properties → Compatibility).
- Install Epson driver first (normal driver from Epson website) – the adjustment program needs the USB driver stack active.
- Run as Admin, disable UAC temporarily if needed.
Step-by-Step Installation (Extraction & Setup)
- Create a dedicated folder on your desktop (e.g.,
Epson_Adj_SX218).
- Extract the ZIP/RAR file into that folder using WinRAR or 7-Zip.
- Disable antivirus temporarily (some tools flag the program as a hacktool – it’s a false positive).
- Run the main executable – usually named
AdjProg.exe or SX213_Adj.exe.
- Windows 8/10/11 users: Right-click → Run as administrator.
- Select your language (English or Japanese) if prompted.
4. Using the Adjustment Program (Common tasks)
Prerequisites Before Installation
- Install the official Epson printer driver first (from Epson’s website).
- Connect the printer via USB cable – wireless mode may not work for service programs.
- Ensure no other printer jobs are pending.
- Turn off the printer, then turn it back on – wait until idle.
Step 6: Verify & Exit
- Click “Check” again. Both counters should now read 0.
- Turn off the printer.
- Wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on.
- The “Service Required” error should be gone.
