Step 5: Check the File Signature

Legitimate MP4s have a consistent header (starts with ftyp in hexadecimal). Use a hex editor or file command on Linux/Mac:

  • On Mac/Linux terminal: file "Download- MmsDose.com-video.mp4 -63.83 MB-"
  • If it returns data instead of ISO Media, MP4 Base Media v1, it’s suspicious.

What to Do If You Already Downloaded It

If you already clicked and downloaded "Download- MmsDose.com-video.mp4 -63.83 MB-" , take these actions:

  1. Do not open it yet – Especially if your antivirus warned you.
  2. Disconnect from the internet – Prevents any potential callback to a command-and-control server.
  3. Run a full system scan – Use Windows Defender Offline or a bootable antivirus.
  4. Check for new processes – Open Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (Mac). Look for unfamiliar processes running.
  5. Monitor network traffic – Use Wireshark or GlassWire to see if your computer is phoning home to unknown IPs.

If you find malware, boot into Safe Mode and run Malwarebytes AdwCleaner or rkill before a full cleanup.
