Installing Macros Only

Sometimes you get a .zip with macros (.f07, .f06, .ema, .zw1) without parts:

1. Extract the zip.
2. Copy macro files to your macro directory (e.g., C:\EPLAN\Macros\Company\).
3. To link macros to parts, you must manually edit the part’s “Macro” tab in Parts Management.

• Confirm EPLAN product and version (e.g., Electric P8 2.9, 2022, 2023) and service packs; library compatibility must match or be supported.
• Backup current EPLAN library folder and user settings.
• Ensure sufficient disk space and administrator rights for installation.
• If using network/shared library, verify network access and permissions.

Error 2: "Macro not found" after successful import

• Cause: EPLAN uses absolute paths. If your macro folder is different from the creator’s folder.
• Fix:
  • Options > Settings > User > Management > Macro Paths.
  • Add the folder where your imported macros reside (e.g., C:\EPLAN_Macros\ManufacturerX).
  • Or, in Parts Management > [Additional] > Re-link macros > Point to the new folder.
