Step 1: Disable Driver Signature Enforcement (Temporarily)
Only do this if you have an old, unsigned .inf file from 2012 or earlier.
- Hold Shift and click Restart.
- Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- Press F7 (Disable driver signature enforcement).
- Install your driver normally. (Note: You must redo this after every boot if you use truly unsigned drivers – not recommended).

HID OMNIKEY 3121 on Windows 11 → Windows Update pulls Microsoft CCID driver automatically. Ez100pu not needed.
Why Won’t the Ez100pu Work Out of the Box on Windows 11?
- Driver Signing: Windows 11 requires drivers to be digitally signed by Microsoft. Most Ez100pu drivers are unsigned or use old SHA-1 certificates.
- Legacy Interface: The device uses a proprietary USB-to-serial bridge that modern Windows treats as a potential security risk.
- Missing INF files: The default Windows 11 driver database does not include Ez100pu’s hardware IDs.
