Part 5: Is it Worth it in 2025 vs. PMDG or Zibo?

You might wonder: Why download an old plane when PMDG exists?

  • Performance: The FeelThere 737 PIC runs at 60 FPS on a potato laptop. PMDG requires a NASA PC.
  • Simplicity vs. Depth: It is not "Study Level" (circuit breakers don't work), but it is "Procedural Level." If you want to learn SIDs, STARs, and Autoland without reading a 600-page manual, this is your bird.
  • The "Call" Feature: The virtual pilot calling "V1... Rotate" automatically is surprisingly immersive.

Exclusive Verdict: If you want the best 737, buy PMDG. If you want a free 737, get the Zibo for X-Plane. But if you want a $10, lightweight, fun 737 for old FSX, the FeelThere PIC is perfect.

Free Download Considerations:

  • Legality and Safety: Be cautious with "free downloads" from non-official sources, as they might include pirated software, malware, or compromised files.
  • Official Sources: Prefer official websites or marketplaces (like the Microsoft Store for MSFS add-ons) for downloads to ensure you're getting legitimate software.

Part 2: The "Free Download Exclusive" Problem – A Warning

Let’s address the elephant in the cockpit. Searching for "fsx feelthere call for 737 pilot in command free download exclusive" leads you down a dangerous rabbit hole.

B. Technical Instability

Pirated versions of FSX add-ons frequently have corrupted files or "cracked" executables that bypass DRM (Digital Rights Management). These cracks often cause:

  • FSX crashes to the desktop (CTD).
  • Missing textures or non-functional gauges.
  • Incompatibility with Windows 10/11.
  • Inability to install service packs or updates.

2. Upgrade to the iFly 737 (Better than PIC)

The iFly 737 for FSX is considered the spiritual successor to the FeelThere PIC. It offers a fully modeled 737-600/700/800/900 with a systems depth that surpasses the old FeelThere. You can find it on sale for as little as $25 during holiday events.

I’m having the same problem, could you expand in your solution explanation? I don’t understand how setup the Internet Explorer in Windows 10 can solve an Internet connection issue with MinGW Installation Manager. Thanks in advance.

Hello, I added how to find and change this settings.
It works because MinGW is using the Internet Explorer DLL to access the Internet (and so the Internet settings) and I think that MinGW gets a warning when switching from secure and not secure mode and it doesn’t handle it correctly.
