The workshop is transformed. Lanterns hang from the banyan tree. Hundreds of restored dolls sit in velvet-lined baskets. The broken dolls Noor rescued now have new limbs made of silver and gold paint—explicitly beautiful in their asymmetry. Each doll has a handwritten tag: “This doll belonged to a woman who crossed seven rivers. She lost an arm, but never her laughter.” / “This patola has no legs because it danced so hard it wore them out.”

Fateh, the little boy with the stutter, stands behind a puppet stall. With a wooden lion puppet, he performs a story—not a word stuttered because the puppet speaks for him. enabling exploration of rural social codes.

The centerpiece: the giant patola puppet of Rani Jindan, now complete. Meher carved the warrior queen’s crown. Noor painted her eyes—fierce, sad, and free. Beneath the puppet, a plaque: “To our mother, who taught us that even a broken doll can lead an army.”
