Quick Guide — Initial D Arcade Stage Zero v.2.30
3. Tuning & Setup (關鍵)
In v2.30, tuning is more forgiving than old Stages.
- Power vs. Handling – Prioritize handling until you master the course.
- For Akina / Irohazaka: 3–4 handling, 2–3 power.
- For Hakone / Nagao: 2 handling, 4–5 power.
- Brake balance: Set to 1 or 2 (strong rear) for smoother lift-off turning.
- Gear final ratio: Default is fine; shorten only for very tight courses (Tsuchisaka).
Unlock tuning parts by:
- Playing Ghost Battle
- Clearing Story mode chapters
Controls
- Steering wheel: turn input.
- Accelerator pedal: gas.
- Brake pedal: brake (light tap for throttle-control drifts).
- Clutch/Shifter: use to change gears if available (many cabinets use automatic or paddle shifters).
- Handbrake (if present): assist with tight hairpins and initiation.
- Start/OK button: confirm menus.
- Back/Menu button: cancel/exit.
The Legacy: What is "Arcade Stage Zero"?
Released initially in 2017, Initial D Arcade Stage Zero marked a radical departure from its predecessor, Arcade Stage 8 Infinity. SEGA scrapped the old "Grip vs. Drift" physics for a new "Heart-Tank" system. The game was a soft reboot: fewer cars, reworked physics, and a subscription-based "Aime" card system. initial d arcade stage zero v.2.30
Version v.2.30 rolled out in late 2019 (predominantly in Japan and select Asian territories) and represented the "Complete" edition of Zero. It arrived just before the announcement of Initial D THE ARCADE (the Unreal Engine 4 successor). Consequently, v.2.30 acts as a bridge—polishing the controversial mechanics of Zero while retaining the raw, weight-transfer-heavy driving model that purists eventually grew to love.
