1. Is there official "Portable" Software?

No. The manufacturer (Jiusion) typically provides a standard Windows installer (.exe) or a driver package. They do not officially release a "portable" version (a standalone .exe that runs without installation).

However, the microscope is a standard USB Video Class (UVC) device. This means it is "Driver-Free" on most modern systems.

Step 1: The Capture Engine (Replace the Vendor App)

Do not launch the OEM .exe. Instead, use VLC Media Player (Portable) or OBS Studio (Portable) .

• VLC Portable: Open Capture Device -> DirectShow. Select the J500. You will get a raw, clean feed. No frills, but it is portable.
• The Catch: VLC doesn't know how to trigger the J500’s internal LED ring or the EDOF motor.
• The Fix: Use Portable Device Monitoring to capture the USB control packets when you press "EDOF" on the vendor software, then replicate via a Python script (using pyusb and libusb). This is advanced, but it frees you forever.
