Jetcomp.exe Download [exclusive]

⚠️ Important Note: jetcomp.exe is legacy software (last updated around 2000–2005). It does not work with modern .accdb databases. It is intended for Jet 3.5x (Access 97) and Jet 4.0 (Access 2000–2003) databases.

What is the "Jet" Engine?

The Microsoft Jet Database Engine is the underlying technology that powered Microsoft Access versions through Access 2003 (and data access components in older versions of Office). JetComp.exe was specifically designed for Jet 3.5 and Jet 4.0 databases.

Part 4: Step-by-Step – Running an Authenticated JetComp Utility

If you are certain you have a legitimate copy (perhaps copied from an old, known-good Windows XP machine or an official Microsoft CD), here is how to use it safely. ⚠️ Important Note: jetcomp

Step 1: Verify the Digital Signature

• Right-click jetcomp.exe > Properties > Digital Signatures tab.
• Look for "Microsoft Corporation". If this tab is missing or the signer is unknown, delete the file immediately.

Step 2: Prepare Your Database

• Back up your .mdb file. This is critical. The compact process can sometimes fail, worsening corruption.
• Close any open instances of Access or any application connecting to the database.

Step 3: Run JetComp.exe

• Launch the utility. The interface is simple:
  • Database to Compact: Browse to your corrupt .mdb file.
  • Database to Compact Into: Choose a new filename (e.g., database_repaired.mdb). Do not overwrite your original.
• Click Options to set compacting rules (e.g., encrypt with a password).
• Click Compact.

Step 4: Test the Output

• Open the new database in Microsoft Access. Verify that tables, queries, and forms work.
