Verify ROM status

mame.exe -verifyroms pacman

Expected output: romset pacman is good

4. Loading and Playing Games

1. Configure MAME: Edit mame.ini to point to your ROMset folders.
2. Add ROMs and CHDs: Place the ROMs and CHDs in their respective folders.
3. Run MAME: Launch MAME 0.139 and select a game from the menu.

RetroArch setup (simplest on modern PCs)

1. Install RetroArch
2. Go to Online Updater → Core Downloader
3. Find and install MAME 2010 (libretro core based on 0.139)
4. Put 0.139 ROMs in /roms/mame/
5. Load Core → MAME 2010 → Load Content → select game zip
