Map Ark Scorched Earth [hot]
REPORT: ARK SURVIVAL EVOLVED – SCORCHED EARTH MAP ANALYSIS
Date: October 26, 2023 Subject: Map Overview, Survival Mechanics, and Resource Management Classification: Survival Guide
Unique Resources
- Silk: Harvested from Lymantria (moths), Mantises, or white flowers found on the ground. Used to craft Desert Cloth Armor.
- Cactus Sap: Harvested from cacti. Used for hydration and cooking specialized recipes.
- Salt: Harvested from dried riverbeds. Used for preserving food.
- Oil: Unlike other maps where oil is deep underwater, SE features Oil Veins. These are surface nodes where players can build pumps to passively generate oil.
- Water Veins: Surface nodes that provide infinite water once a tap is built. Essential for base building away from the limited natural wells.
Multiplayer & Tribe Strategy
- Assign roles: gatherers (oil/metal), water carriers, scouts (flyers), defenders for base raids during sandstorms.
- Mobile resource runs: use pack animals or boats (if modded) to shuttle large quantities of oil/metal back to base.
- Raiding considerations: sandstorms can mask approach; use elevated vantage points for surveillance.
Resources and Where to Find Them
Unlike lush maps where wood and thatch are everywhere, Scorched Earth forces you to adapt. map ark scorched earth
- Wood: Kill and harvest Desert Titanoboa or Mantis. Do not chop "trees" (there are few). Use a Chainsaw on cacti in the Badlands for wood.
- Water: You cannot rely on rain (it rarely rains). Build Water Wells (unlocked at level 45) on ground spots. Use Cactus Sap in a cooking pot to make "Cactus Broth" (camouflage) or eat it raw for hydration.
- Clay: Adobe requires Clay. To make Clay: Put Sand (harvested with a pickaxe from rocks) + Cactus Sap + Water into a Mortar and Pestle.
- Silica Pearls: Do not look in the ocean (there is no ocean). Look in the Dunes at night for glowing green pools. Also, kill Lymantria (Moth creatures) for Silica Pearls from their corpses.
Strategic Base Building Locations
- Early Game (Levels 1-40): The Southern Badlands (around 60, 80). Spawns low-level threats, has access to water pools, and is close to metal nodes.
- Mid Game (Levels 41-80): The Central Canyon Pillars (around 50, 50). Building a base on a pillar-top offers defense against land predators and some relief from ground-level heat. You will need a flyer or grappling hooks to access it.
- Late Game (Levels 81+): The Western Wyvern Trench cliff edges. Not inside the trench, but on the rim. This gives you quick access to Wyvern eggs and high-tier metal but requires turrets to defend against wild Wyvern patrols.
5. The Ruins & The Manticore Arena (The World Scar)
Scattered across the map are ancient, crumbling structures—remnants of an advanced civilization. The most prominent is the Manticore Arena (Central-South). REPORT: ARK SURVIVAL EVOLVED – SCORCHED EARTH MAP
- Features: Stone structures that cannot be destroyed by wild creatures. Provide natural shade (reduces heat).
- Key Resources: Silica Pearls (from specific ruins fountains), Black Pearls (rarely from Deathworms or Eurypterids in the small water pools), and Artifacts.
- Artifact Caves: Scorched Earth has three main caves housing Artifacts (Gatekeeper, Crag, Destroyer) needed to summon the boss, the Manticore. These caves are dark, narrow, and filled with high-level Araneo, Arthropluera, and Onycs.
