Mobotix M10 — Open Menu (Useful Write-up)
Method 1: Direct Web Browser Access (Standard Open Menu)
- Enter the camera’s IP address into the browser address bar:
http://10.1.0.10 - The Login Dialog will appear. Default credentials:
- Username:
admin - Password: (leave blank unless previously set)

- Upon successful login, you land on the Live View page. To access the full configuration menu:
- Click the "Admin Menu" button (gear icon, typically top-right).
- If Java is missing, you may see a blank panel. In that case, proceed to Method 2.
Step 3: Opening the Admin Menu
Once the live view loads:
- Look at the bottom right corner of the live image.
- Click the "Key" icon (or sometimes a "gear" icon).
- A login dialog box will appear.
- Enter Username:
adminand the appropriate password. - Click OK.
Success: The screen will refresh. You will now see a complex interface with tabs across the top: General, Recording, Events, Network, etc. You have successfully opened the main configuration menu. mobotix m10 open menu
Common menu locations and what they contain
- Live View: real-time video, digital zoom, snapshot.
- Playback: recorded video review (if recording locally or to an attached NAS).
- System / Maintenance:
- Firmware update
- System logs and reboot
- Factory reset
- Network:
- IP configuration (DHCP/static)
- DNS, gateway, NTP server
- Port settings (HTTP/HTTPS, RTSP)
- User Management:
- Add/remove users, set roles and password policies
- API and service account controls
- Video / Image:
- Resolution, frame rate, compression (H.264/H.265 if supported)
- Exposure, white balance, brightness/contrast, image rotation/mirror
- Day/night and IR settings (if hardware supports)
- Event / Alarm:
- Motion detection areas and sensitivity
- Input/output triggers, SMTP alerts, FTP/HTTP upload
- Scheduler rules
- Storage:
- SD card status, recording mode, overwrite settings
- Configure NAS/SMB/FTP for video export
- Advanced:
- ONVIF settings, RTSP URL
- Privacy masks, ROI (region of interest)
- Timezone and daylight saving
4.3 Alarm Settings

- Video Motion Detector (VM): Defines sensitive zones within the image grid. The camera analyzes changes in pixels to trigger recording or messages.
- Signal Inputs: Configuration for the external sensor inputs (PIR, door contacts, etc.) connected to the camera’s I/O terminal.
- Audio Level: Triggers alarms based on microphone volume levels.
- Message Handling: Defines what happens during an alarm (e.g., Send Email, FTP Upload, SIP Call, Play Audio).
3. User Interface Hierarchy (The “Live Screen”)
Once logged in, the user is presented with the Live Screen. This is not the configuration menu yet, but the monitoring view. The interface is generally divided into three columns: Enter the camera’s IP address into the browser
- Left Column (Navigation): Controls for zoom, focus, brightness, and preset selection.
- Center Column (Video): The live video feed from the camera sensors.
- Right Column (Status/Message): Displays system status, temperature, recording status, and error logs.
