Marta ve Dario, görünüşte mutlu bir orta sınıf İtalyan çiftidir. Ancak Marta, cinsel tatminsizlik ve duygusal boşluk hissetmektedir. Bir festival sırasında tanıştığı gizemli bir yabancı, onun bastırılmış tutkularını gün yüzüne çıkarır. Film, ihanet ile özgürleşme arasındaki ince çizgide ilerler.
