The Hidden Geometry of Chaos: A Love Letter to Multiversus Frame Data
In the pantheon of fighting games, frame data is usually a spreadsheet—cold, sterile, and intimidating. But in Multiversus, frame data is a living creature. It’s the difference between Batman’s grapple hook feeling like a surgical scalpel or a wet noodle. It’s the reason you screamed, “THAT HIT?!” when Shaggy’s side kick connected from two zip codes away.
Let’s tear the curtain back. Not to flex, but to survive. Multiversus Frame Data
The "Wonder Woman Lasso" (The Bait)
- Data: Startup 16f. Active 4f. Recovery 28f.
- Analysis: Very slow startup and massive recovery.
- Usage: If Wonder Woman misses her lasso, you have exactly 28 frames to dash in and hit her. If you are playing a character with a 9-frame tilt (like Jake), you have a massive 19-frame window to land a free punish.
Case 2: Arya Stark’s Up-Tilt (The Ladder Starter)
- Startup: 6 frames (Very fast)
- Active: 3 frames
- Recovery: 10 frames
- On Hit: +15 frames
The Takeaway: This is a "frame trap" machine. Because she recovers 15 frames before the enemy recovers from the hitstun, she can jump and Up-Air (7 frame startup) for a true kill confirm. If you are playing against Arya, you must respect her Up-Tilt range. If she gets underneath you at 80%, you are dead. The Hidden Geometry of Chaos: A Love Letter
Character Frame Data Highlights (Patch v1.3+)
Note: Values are approximate based on community testing. Patches change frequently—always lab after updates. Data: Startup 16f
2. Frame Traps
After a move with +4 on block, use a 6f jab.
The opponent’s fastest move (say, 5f) will still lose because:
Your 6f vs Opponent’s 5f + 4 disadvantage = You hit first.
3. True Combos
A "true combo" means the opponent cannot dodge, jump, or act between hits. This happens when the Hit Stun of the first move lasts longer than the Startup of the second move plus the opponent's Dodge startup.
How to Access Frame Data in 2024
Unlike Rivals of Aether or Smash Bros mods, MultiVersus does not have a built-in "Frame Meter" in training mode. However, the community has reverse-engineered the game.
- The Lab (Training Mode): Set the bot to "Dodge" or "Jump" after hit. If they escape, it isn't a true combo.
- The MultiVersus Wiki & Data Discords: Dedicated data miners have extracted the JSON files. Look for spreadsheets titled "MVS Frame Data v.1.2+".
- Mods (PC Only): There are third-party overlay mods that display frame advantage in real-time. Use these at your own risk regarding bans.
