The "best" sponsor is determined by the Unique Upgrade they provide. While cash bonuses are nice in the early game, money becomes irrelevant once you start winning sprint races. Unique Upgrades, however, cannot be purchased in the shop and offer performance stats that exceed standard Level 3 parts.
