Important Starter Tips:
You begin in Linen Town. Unlike standard Pokémon games, there is no Professor giving you a simple choice. You will be attacked immediately by a wild Shadow Pokémon.
The Starter Choice (Crucial): You are offered three "Starter Eggs" that hatch into:
Pro Tip: Pick Ralts. The first two gyms are Fighting and Poison. Ralts resists Fighting (as Fairy) and hits Poison for super effective damage.
Immediate Tasks:
It started with a migraine—a "searing pain," as the text box described it. My character, a silent protagonist in a world that felt strangely familiar yet off-kilter, woke up in the Core Region. The Professor—Professor Oak, but with a sprite that looked weary, tired—handed me a Pokéball.
"Choose," the game seemed to whisper. I picked Dragonite. In this twisted reality, starters weren't limited to the Kanto three; I needed a dragon to survive what was coming.
The first few routes were deceptively normal. Pidgeys flew, Rattatas scurried. But then, the sky turned a bruised purple. A text box interrupted my training: "A rift has opened. The worlds are colliding."
This was the crux of Worlds Collide. It wasn't just a journey to be a Champion; it was a desperate sprint to hold reality together. I encountered my rival, a dark reflection of myself, who wasn't interested in a friendly battle. His Pokémon were over-leveled, brutal sweepers. My Dragonite fainted. I realized then: this wasn't a game for children. This was a war of attrition.
City: Granite Falls City
Gym Leader: Bruno (Fighting type – Level 18-22)
Bruno’s Team:
Strategy: Use your Ralts (now Kirlia) with Confusion or a Flying type (catch a Pidgey on Route 3). Do not use Normal types—Hitmonchan’s Mach Punch will obliterate them. Important Starter Tips:
After the Badge: A cutscene triggers. A mysterious figure in a black coat (Team Equilibrium) tears a hole in the sky. Shadow Pokémon begin spawning in the wild. These are level 25+ and cannot be caught until you get the Snag Machine (given after Gym 2).
Around the 4-hour mark, you’ll enter Twilight Colosseum—a mandatory gauntlet of 8 consecutive double battles with no healing.
Enemy types: Mostly Ghost/Psychic and Dark/Dragon combos.
Recommended team for this segment:
Boss of the Colosseum: A Fallen Champion using a Dialga and Palkia at level 55 each. Roar of Time will one-shot anything not resistant. Use a Sturdy Pokémon or a Focus Sash to get a Toxic off, then stall.
Upon beginning the journey in the Core Region, players are offered a choice of starters. In Worlds Collide, the selection is expanded.
