The combo counter freezes at 13 before resetting to zero.

Players have dubbed this the "Devil’s Dozen" bug. Without the Rafian at the Edge 13 Hit Fix, this specific interaction makes speedrunning or high-score challenges virtually impossible.

Method 3: The "Rhythm Break" Technique (Input-Based)

If you cannot modify game files (console players or anti-cheat protected servers), you can use a manual input trick. While not a true "fix," it exploits a loophole in the game’s input buffer.

Timing is everything. Rafian’s 13th hit bug triggers only if the previous 12 hits maintain perfect rhythm (same interval within 50ms). To bypass it:

On your 12th hit, delay your next input by exactly 0.3 seconds.
Execute the 13th hit as a Heavy Attack (not Light or Medium).
Immediately cancel into a Backdash.

Because the game’s bug checks for consistent light/medium chains, changing the attack type and adding a micro-delay fools the detection system. The 13th hit will register as a "new combo starter" rather than a continuation.

Note: This requires practice. Use the training dummy in Rafian’s stage to master the 0.3-second delay.

Rollout Plan

Canary (5% of servers): Monitor metrics for duplicate-hit counters and late corrections for 48 hours.
Incremental ramp to 25% → 50% → 100% over 3–5 days if no regressions.
Feature flags allow immediate rollback to previous hit-evaluation behavior.
