Step 5: Exfiltrating – Getting Out Alive
Most players die after getting the loot because they panic. the jungle call shark lagoon walkthrough
- Do not swim back the way you came. The sharks you dodged earlier have respawned.
- Use the Kelp Corridor: On the west side of the lagoon, there’s a tunnel of giant kelp. Sharks refuse to enter it because of the electric eels that live there. Swim through the kelp – you’ll take minor electric damage (5 HP per second) but reach a hidden ladder that leads directly to a jungle plateau with a campfire.
- Alternative escape: If you killed the Ancient Great White, its corpse floats. Stand on the corpse and use a Fast Travel Horn (if you have one). Yes, you can fast travel from a dead shark’s back.
The Escape
Do not run. The game tracks your final footsteps. Walk calmly back across the drained lagoon toward the Mudflats Bridge. Behind the waterfall you will find a previously invisible rope ladder. Here’s a feature-style walkthrough for The Jungle Call:
Climb it.
Zone Complete. You are now in the Highland Marshes – and you’ll need that harpoon for the Crocodile King. Step 5: Exfiltrating – Getting Out Alive Most
Phase 2: The Mercy or Kill Choice
The Jungle Call is famous for its moral mechanics. The Alpha will stop moving. A prompt appears: “Finish it” or “Call the herd.”
- If you finish it: You get the Alpha Hide (best armor in the game, +40% swim speed) but the lagoon becomes permanently hostile. Future visits trigger endless waves.
- If you call the herd: Use the Gill Tree Conch again. A pod of Orcas arrive and drag the Alpha out to sea. Reward: Orca Totem (use once to clear any water zone of all threats). Plus, sharks in the lagoon become passive for the remainder of your playthrough.
Recommendation for first playthrough: Call the herd. The Orca Totem is invaluable for the next zone (The Sunken Temple).
Hidden objectives / secrets

- Hidden Cavern: Accessible by burning away hanging seaweed with a flare near the submerged tunnel exit. Contains rare crafting materials and lore notes.
