You wake up in a secluded, rain-soaked town with no memory of who you are or why you're there. Three mysterious women seem to know you, but each has a different story. Something is wrong in this town – flickering shadows, recurring nightmares, and a sense that reality is bending.
The Good: The mystery is genuinely engaging. You want to know what happened. The dialogue is natural and avoids the cringey exposition dumps common in the genre. The "desire" mechanic (choices that affect your sanity/attraction) is implemented subtly. The Bad: At v0.9, this is still mostly prologue. Just as the plot twists start to land, the chapter ends. The pacing is slow – expect 2-3 hours of reading with very little sexual content (more on that below).
To fully appreciate the updates in Unknown Desire -v0.9-, you need to know the current state of the cast: Unknown Desire -v0.9- By FeelGoodGames
Unknown Desire immediately sets itself apart from the typical AVN crowd. Don't go in expecting a shallow sandbox or a harem-collector. From the opening scene, FeelGoodGames makes it clear this is a slow-burn, narrative-first experience. The game wears its influences (think Silent Hill meets a somber dating sim) on its sleeve, and for the most part, it works beautifully.
Graphics & Presentation: 8.5/10 The renders are stunning for an indie v0.9 title. Lighting is the star here – deep shadows, moody fog, and character expressions that convey genuine unease. The female character models are distinct, avoiding the "same-face" syndrome that plagues many Ren'Py games. The male MC is a blank slate by design, which fits the amnesia-tinged plot. The UI is clean, minimal, and diegetic – it feels like part of the world. The music is ambient, melancholic, and occasionally jarring, which perfectly supports the psychological horror undertones. Write-Up: Unknown Desire -v0
Version 0.9 is a landmark release for FeelGoodGames. According to the patch notes released on their official Patreon and Itch.io pages, this update focuses on the "Third Act Bridge"—content designed to smoothly transition the player from the mid-game revelations to the endgame climax.
