The charcoal didn't just mark the paper; it exhaled. In a cramped studio overlooking a city that never slept, Elias sat hunched over a worn copy of Figure Study Made Easy
by Aditya Chari. The spine was taped, the edges softened by years of sweat and frustration. To the world, it was an instructional manual—a guide to anatomy, proportion, and the mechanical grace of the human form. To Elias, it was a map of a ghost.
Years ago, Elias had been a surgeon. His hands were instruments of cold precision, seeing the body as a machine to be serviced. But after a tremor ended his career, the "machine" became a mystery he could no longer solve with a scalpel. He turned to the book, seeking to understand the of a curve rather than the of a muscle.
He spent months on Chapter Four: "The Rhythm of the Spine." Chari’s sketches weren't just skeletons; they were frozen movements, capturing the way a soul leans into a breeze or buckles under grief. Elias began to see his own life through these lines. He realized his surgical precision had been a form of blindness. He knew where the tendons attached, but he had never understood the weight they carried.
One rainy Tuesday, a "new" digital edition of the study surfaced in an artists' forum—a rumored collection of Chari’s lost notations on "The Unfinished Gesture." Elias downloaded it with trembling fingers.
As he scrolled through the high-resolution plates, he stopped at a sketch of a seated figure, head bowed. The annotation read:
“The figure is never still. Even in rest, it is falling toward the earth or reaching for the light. Draw the tension, not the skin.”
Elias picked up a stick of raw willow charcoal. He didn't look at his hand. He didn't think about the tremor. He looked at the white space of the paper and saw the tension of his own survival. He drew a line—not the clean, sterile line of a surgeon, but a jagged, rhythmic stroke that vibrated with the truth of his shaking hand.
For the first time, the figure on the page didn't look like a medical diagram. It looked like a man standing back up.
The book hadn't taught him how to draw a body; it had taught him how to inhabit one. In the quiet of the studio, Elias realized that perfection was the enemy of the "new" self he was carving out. Like Chari’s figures, he was a work of constant, beautiful transition. from Chari's work or perhaps a breakdown of anatomical rhythm for your own practice?
The release of the revised edition of Figure Study Made Easy by Aditya Chari has reignited interest among art students and professionals looking for a methodical approach to human anatomy. Known for its clarity and structured lessons, this book is a staple in many Indian art colleges and is often compared to classics like those by Andrew Loomis. Core Concepts of "Figure Study Made Easy"

Aditya Chari's " Figure Study Made Easy " is a cornerstone resource for art students, especially those in India, seeking to master the human form. The book is widely used in art colleges and by professionals in animation, fashion design, and comic art. The Story of "Figure Study Made Easy"
The book's reputation stems from Aditya Chari’s own background as a graduate of the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Art. Chari, a renowned concept artist who designed characters for blockbuster films like Baahubali (including the character Bhallaldeva), channeled his years of industry experience into a simplified teaching method.
First published in 2005, the book treats the human figure as a three-dimensional structure of solid blocks, teaching artists to create the illusion of form on a two-dimensional surface. Its "step-by-step" sequential chapters are designed to streamline an artist’s thoughts, helping them capture the essence of a figure quickly. Key Educational Topics

Shading & Coloring Guidelines (For Traditional or Digital Art)
Skin tone – Gold, copper, or reddish-brown (gaura varna).
Horses – White or cream, with golden reins.
Chariot – Green or red with gold inlay.
Background – Deep orange gradient or concentric circles of yellow/orange/red.
Lotuses – Deep pink outer petals, light pink inner.
Halo – Golden yellow, with scalloped flame edges.
Key Concepts
Distance Formula: To find the distance between two points.
Section Formula: For finding the coordinates of a point that divides a line segment externally or internally.
Midpoint Formula: A special case of the section formula to find the midpoint.
Equation of Lines: Different forms of lines (general form, slope-intercept form, etc.).
Equations of Circles: Standard form and general form.
Properties of Triangles and Quadrilaterals: Orthocenter, circumcenter, incenter, and more.
Common Mistakes in Aditya Figure Drawing (And How to Avoid Them)
Making the horses look static – Horses’ legs must be in gallop: front pair extended, back pair gathered.
Forgetting the sunburst halo – Aditya is always shown with a radiant circular halo, not just a crown.
Placing lotuses incorrectly – They are held near the heart and head, not down by the waist.
Ignoring Aruna – A chariot without Aruna is incomplete. Even a small sketch of Aruna (only torso and arms) is necessary.
Wrong arm count for the region – North Indian Aditya usually 2 arms; South Indian (especially Konark) may show 4 arms. Be consistent.
Finding Study Materials
Online Platforms: Websites like NCERT, OpenStax, and Khan Academy offer free study materials.
E-books and PDFs: Look for e-books or PDFs specifically designed for your exam. You can search on platforms like Google Books, or websites dedicated to competitive exam preparation.
Libraries: Many schools and colleges have libraries with a collection of textbooks and reference books.
Step 1 – The Dynamic Diagonal Layout
Unlike static deities, Aditya is always in motion due to his chariot racing across the sky. Start with a diagonal axis line from bottom-left (chariot wheels) to top-right (crown top). This gives a sense of forward movement.
Core Iconographic Features (The “Figure Study” Checklist)
Posture (Asana) – Usually standing upright (samabhanga or straight pose) on a lotus pedestal.
Number of Arms – Most commonly two arms, though some forms show four.
Hand Gestures & Objects (Ayudhas)
Two hands: both holding fully bloomed lotuses (red or pink).
Four hands: lotus, chakra (discus), conch, and a mace or a rosary.
Chariot (Ratha) – A seven-horsed chariot driven by Aruna (the charioteer, legless). The seven horses represent the seven meters of Sanskrit prosody or the seven days of the week.
Headgear (Mukuta) – A cylindrical or conical crown (kiritamukuta), often with a central glowing gem or a sunburst behind the head (prabhamandala).
Attire & Ornaments –
Lower body: dhoti or antariya in northern style.
Upper body: sometimes bare-chested, sometimes with kavacha (armor).
Jewels: armlets, necklaces, earrings (kundalas), and a sacred thread (yajnopavita).
Footwear: Generally barefoot on the chariot.
Facial Expression – Calm, majestic, with open eyes symbolizing the all-seeing sun. A slight smile (ardhashmitalakshana).

A proper figure study of Aditya must include these seven key elements:

So how can I contact LePou?
The latest X64 version of Legion has a bug where the Drive amount jumps when changing from green/red channels. The knob doesn't jump, but you can hear the drive amount jump when tweaking a little bit, so who knows what the default or chosen sound is being used whenever?
Also similar problems with the Engl as well. The old V 1.01 x86 32 bit version of Legion works perfectly however. (but the newer 64 bit version does sound a bit better, sadly).
Has you or anyone else noticed this?
I want to contact him for a way to fix these plugin bugs.

Hello,
To my knowledge, Lepou has not been active for years in the simulation community. I think he has completely given up by lack of time and motivation. So I doubt he'll be willing to fix any bugs, and I have no idea how to contact him.

Bravo.

Hello,
I would like to config my Schuffham S-Gear 2 but I don't know how to do.
I have Logic Pro X.6.2 with S-Gear plugin
I found your website and I ask myself what does it means in the folder Schuffham S-Gear 2.
I don't understand what you have writing like in this exemple : Guitar on the left:
1 impulse of baffle Marshall 1960A (loudspeaker: G12M) through a microphone Neumann U67 in Cap Edge position, at a distance of 2 inches (5 cm). Stereo panning: 100% left.
1 impulse of baffle Marshall 1960A (loudspeaker: G12M) through a microphone Neumann U87 in Cap Edge position, at a distance of 4 inches (10 cm). Stereo panning: 100% left.
How can I find the same sound as you ? How can I do to config my own S-Gear with these parameters ? What does it means ?
Sorry for my English ;) I’m French !
You can answer me directly on my email address.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Grebz,
I don't know if you read these... but I was wondering if your Lepou plugins are x32 or x64? Thanks for all the great stuff on here!
