Quark Corundum Farm //free\\ May 2026
In the Quark mod for Minecraft, you can create a Corundum Farm by utilizing the blocks' natural ability to grow and spread when placed deep underground. How to Grow Corundum
Unlike most minerals, Corundum acts as a "budding" block that regenerates its crystals over time if specific conditions are met:
Depth Requirement: Corundum only grows when placed at Y level 24 or lower. Some players recommend placing it even deeper, near bedrock, for better results.
Spreading Mechanics: When placed at the correct depth, a Corundum block will slowly grow crystal clusters on its top and sides. Eventually, it can grow into a column/tower up to 4 blocks high.
Visual Indicators: If a block is capable of growing, it will emit sparkling particles. If you "wax" the block (similar to copper), it will stop emitting particles and stop growing. Farming Setup quark corundum farm
Obtain Initial Blocks: Find Corundum naturally in caves, typically generating in pairs of colors (e.g., blue and yellow). You can also find them in pyramid chests in some modpacks.
Relocation: Break the Corundum blocks and clusters (Silk Touch may be required for the clusters themselves) and move them to a dedicated farming room below Y=24. Automation:
Manual: Periodically mine the top three blocks of a tower, leaving the base block to regrow.
Automated: Use a piston-based breaker system or technical mods like Create to harvest the grown segments automatically. In the Quark mod for Minecraft, you can
Color Transmutation: If your modpack includes Astral Sorcery, you can use Starlight Transmutation to change one color of Corundum into another before starting your farm. Usage Farmed Corundum is primarily used for:
Decorative Blocks: Creating vibrant, translucent building blocks.
Rainbow Lamps: Crafting Rainbow Lamps that can change the color of beacon beams when powered by redstone.
Runes: Used in various recipes or for specific quest progressions in expert modpacks. Crafted into Corundum Blocks (decoration)
3. The Daily: "Arena: Master Rank"
While not a "farm" in the traditional sense, never skip your three daily Arena attempts at Master Rank. The participation chest has a low (approx. 3-5%) chance to drop Quark Corundum. It’s a passive income source for when you lack stamina.
5. Processing Corundum
Colored corundum pieces can be:
- Crafted into Corundum Blocks (decoration).
- Smelted into colored Stained Glass (via Quark).
- Used for tools/armor (if enabled).
- Combined with glowstone dust → Lamp.
Add an auto-crafter to turn pieces into blocks.
Advanced Tips & Pitfalls
Common Issues & Fixes

Ensure basalt is within 5 blocks. | | Piston breaks basalt | Use sticky piston + retraction delay. | | Corundum not dropping | Must be pushed off, not mined. | | Farm stops after a while | Relog or break/replace the crystal – known Quark bug. |

Multiplayer Tips
- Coordinate roles: miners on nodes, defenders handle mobs.
- Use instance sharing or party loot rules to split spoils fairly.
- Rotate miners to allow personal cooldowns/loot timers to reset.
Watch your Inventory Cap.
Quark Corundum stacks to 99. If you hit the cap, you will stop earning them. The game does not warn you clearly. Always visit the "Enhance" screen to use up excess Corundum before a farm session.
